Flight Review
Every 24 calendar months, certificated pilots are required to undergo a flight review to ensure they remain current in their flying skills and knowledge. This review includes a minimum of one hour of ground instruction and one hour of flight time with a certified flight instructor.
The ground portion typically covers topics such as regulations, navigation, weather, and aircraft systems, reinforcing the pilot's understanding of critical information. The flight portion allows the instructor to evaluate the pilot's proficiency in handling the aircraft and performing essential maneuvers.
Flight reviews are vital for maintaining safety in aviation, as they provide an opportunity for pilots to refresh their knowledge and receive feedback on their flying abilities. By completing these reviews, pilots can address any areas needing improvement and continue to operate safely in the skies. Regular flight reviews also help instill confidence and ensure compliance with aviation regulations, contributing to overall flight safety.
